IS CLOSED and will not be re-opening
The CSUEB insect zoo is re-opening Fall 2021. We have Australian walking sticks (Extatosoma tiaratum), Vietnamese walking sticks (Medauroidea extradentata), Peruvian walking sticks (Peruphasma schultei), Great thin walking sticks (Ramulus nematodes), Thorny walking sticks (Eurycantha calcarata) and Madagascar hissing cockroaches (Gromphadorhina portentosa) ready for travel! You can request a visit from our undergraduate insect wranglers or borrow the insects directly yourself (if you are a teacher).
Along with our critters we provide handouts and posters detailing the basic facts about each insect, take a tour of our insect zoo here.
For teachers, the use of insects is free, if possible we ask for a $50 donation which you can make here. For private events (like birthday parties) we charge $100 for a two hour visit. All donated funds will be used to support the maintenance of the insect zoo and the training of undergraduate insect wranglers.
